Hi. I am new to these Boards. My Husband had a Fusion December '2014, he is 10 weeks Post Op...He has never been out of Pain...he was in BAD pain 8 mos. prior to Surgery and still is in the right leg...Alot of Nerve Pain with Electrical Shocks...His Surgeon just prescribed Lyrica 75mg 2x/day....he was on Gabapentin and Cymbalta prior...just wondering from anybody how long we should give the Lyrica to start working and when a dosage increase should be asked for? He gets NO Pain when he is laying down, thank goodness. He is currently doing Water Therapy and is good about walking short distances and doing stretching and exercises...he is still on Oxycodone and MS Contin....Would like any feedback on the Lyrica or from anybody who has had this Surgery...Thanks so Much..

  • I had the same surgery at the same time and am only having low back stiffness when I sit too long at work. I'm sorry to hear about your husband. How frustrating to go through all that and still have so much pain. I would give it a week or so. I've never been on lyrics but I think some of these meds need a little time to kick in. He must have had severe nerve damage. Nerves do heal but very slowly. Keep pushing your doctor until he's better. I had luck with physical therapy but now I'm back to work full time and am very sore. Good luck.
