I am waiting to see Ortho for neck surgery. Most likely to replace 3-4 disc & fuse 4-5 verts. At my last PCP on 2/11 I got 30 days pain meds, as I do every month. As leaving I ask to make an appointment in one month, as I do every month. I was told there were no openings till May........ I would be put on a cancellation waiting list. I run out of pain meds tomorrow and still can not get in. As if this is not enough.... The Doctor has prescribed 90 pills, 3 a day, in Jan. and Feb.. Both times the Insurance company would only pay for 60 pills and I was not allowed to pay for the extra 30 myself.
On top of this, (as if things aren't already bad), I've injured my shoulder at a job my Doctor says I shouldn't be doing due to risk of paralysis. (A guy's got to work... right). The Worker's Comp Doc refused an MRI on shoulder saying it is not work related it is due to my Foraminal & spinal stenosis. I believe it is a torn rotator cuff and am getting an MRI on my insurance.
Has anyone ever been through something like this.??? What can I do??? While I have gone without pain meds before, it is not very nice to do so. With all the hub-bub over narcotic pain meds, I am worried about making a big deal out of this but why do I have to suffer because of bad people.?? Sometimes I wish I was a horse.... Just take me behind the barn.!!!
If it matters, I live in California. Sorry to whine to ya.... Please and Thank You.... Mark--
