Hello all! I'm new to this forum, and am 2 weeks post op from an L5/S1 microdicectomy. Every time I'm looking for answer to a question, I'm led to this site, but can't seem to find discussions on this topic. Although I feel like I'm progressing relatively quickly, I'm looking for input on other's experiences with driving various vehicles post op.
Currently, my wife and I have 3 vehicles, 2 are stick shift cars and the 3rd is an automatic transmission truck. I realized quickly that trucks and suv style vehicles were much easier to get in and out of, and I was able to drive myself short distances in the truck. I was actually more capable than I thought after 1 week, by driving the truck. So, the truck is not suitable for my day job and I'm starting to think about selling one of my cars and getting a more appropriate automatic suv. It's just that I can't bear the thought of using a clutch right now.
I feel like it's still really early, and maybe just giving it a month or two - I may be able go back to my standard transmission car and it won't be so bad.
Thanks in advance!
