Hi everyone! My name is Jenna, and I'm 31 years old.
I've had issues with my spine (and hips) since childhood. Mostly hip displaysia and scoliosis. The past few years the pain seemed to be getting worse, to the point where I couldn't get out of bed. So I went through several doctors, and eventually it was decided that I needed surgery.
December 2013 I had spinal fusion surgery done. I'm fused from T-10 to L-4. My 50° curve was corrected to basically a straight spine. And I went several months with no pain. But it came back in the fall of 2014. Again to the point where it's difficult to do anything, like standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Laying down is the only time I don't hurt as bad.
So I've gone back to my surgeon, and another MRI has shown that I have degenerative disc disease. I had a discogram done this week, and I'm waiting to discuss those results with my surgeon. It is looking like I'm getting a second spinal fusion to fuse L-4, L-5, and S-1.
I've been lurking on this site since before my first surgery, and I decided it was time to say hello. I've learned quite a bit from the site and the forums. So I wanted to thank you all for that.
So anyways, hello again!
