I recently had a MRI of the Lumbar region, I had them include the SI Joints, I received a copy of the MRI images and discovered erosion of the SI joints. The report from the Radiologist came back as normal ( surprise, surprise), I think he was mainly looking at the Lumbar spine, which has a herniated disc and bulging disc, all normal for everyone...
I took the A couple of captured images to my Rheumy, at first she said, what does the report say? Not wanting to look at the MRI, I pointed out the erosion and asked what caused it, she did not tell me, but ordered a Vectra DA test, which I looked up, is to test for RA. I have already been diagnosed with SLE Lupus. My thinking is that this looks a lot like Alkalosing Spondelosis, as I have had inflammation in my back along my spine since my teens, I am now 58.
Does anyone have erosive SI joints, is surgery the option? I can't see much relief from shots as the joint is eroded 12mm into the bone, with ligament loss on the right side.
