nerve dysfunction

Hello to all. I am 45 year old male post spinal fusion l-5 s-1one year ago and total hip replacement with foot drop five months ago. Did an emg last week and got results today. Severe nerve dysfunction s-1 nerve root. Doctor said nothing to do for nerve and surgery to place a tendon in foot to at least keep my foot up. This really scares me. Anyone else in this position or anybody got advice ?

I'm sorry to say I'm not familiar as I have never been given an option of surgery.
But I wanted to wish you the best of luck....whether you decide for surgery or not.

Hopefully someone will come along who can relate and be more useful to you.
    Good luck
