Hi. I'm Phil Montana

Hi. I joined to get a sense of the recovery options many have had and the ways to get back to the ' normailty ' of life. I'm 50. I have spinal stenosis and disk degeneration. yay me. After a 2008 accident that fractured my tail bone things went slowly downhill. Resulting 2011 spinal surgery ( laminectomy L2-S1 ) from 4 herniated disks and spinal cord complications I continued my career as a hard working heavy lifting warehouse manager. With no disk material left in my cervical spine and the only 2 cervical disks left pushing into the spinal nerve, I had ACDF April2nd. It seems ok some days. Then I get spasms and have to medicate. How long will it be before I can lift and hold anything for longer than a few minutes? Thanks for stopping by. God's blessings. He woke me up today....Phil

.....work. Did your doc approve the activitie level so high? Of course, you don't want to re injure .
I did not have surgery, not a candidate, but I thought with my treatments it would be back to normal...but my treatments are for pain control....continuing with limited activities..no lifting, bendin, twisting ....etc.

I have known a couple of people who have had spinal surgeries and eventually went back to heavy labor jobs with occasional "catches" in their back where they needed hospitalization for pain control and week or two of bed rest at home.

But they thought it worth it to them to resume activity and take the occasional time out that their body forced upon them.
We all need to make our own decisions. This site may be useful to you as you find articles or videos you may relate to or find more of answer for your situation.
