Evening folks, so glad to have found this forum.
Ok so I'm 44 years old and boy do I feel it haha.
I have struggled with lower back pain for several years. Last year it came to a head when sitting down, or standing from a sitting position became a huge problem. I have hyper mobility throughout my body so my mobility doesn't always match my pain?
Lots of visits to my GP where I was made to feel it was mostly in my head. I asked, nagged then finally begged for an xray. Eventually had an X-ray , my gp had said he wasn't expecting to see anything, basically doing it to shut me up!
X-Ray showed, extensive osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, sharp bone edges and evidence of an old fracture! Also found I have flat back syndrome. This paired with hyper mobility is making my coccyx push under when I sit hence the pain.
I use 20mcg butrans patches, tramadol and amitriptyline. My pain is still about a 5/6 most days. I'm awaiting more physio, my hips, knees and feet now hurt as everything I do I try compensating for my back pain.
Anyhoo that's me! I'm miserable but positive that I will get there xx
