I am a 50 yr old female, previous microdiscectomy L5S1. Bothered off and on with lower back pain 14 years since first surgery. Around Thanksgiving, I woke up with a terrible pain in top of right foot, and first two toes numb and painful. Pain subsided after a month or so, but numbness remained. About a month ago, I started have horrendous siatica in left leg, then both legs. Now have extreme weakness and surface numbness in both legs, left leg is more painful, toes curling when I walk (balance issues?) think I am starting to have urine retention also. Finally had MRI yesterday afternoon, but haven't heard from doctor. I am afraid that I have CES, is it normal for the doctor to wait so long? I am under the care of a neurosurgery physicians assistant. If my mri would have shown anything, would they have called yesterday? I am sick of hurting (only ibuprofen and Tylenol for pain) and I just want my life back. Any input us appreciated.
