Ugh, I am really frustrated. I lost my insurance and job in 2012 after my first surgery, and have been denied disability because I have no doctor or resent tests. Also, in this F-ing state they offer no Medicare for single males without a child in the house, so I'm screwed there as well. Luckily I found a county funded program here in central FL, and went to my new PCP today. They do offer CT scans on a sliding scale, and I have it scheduled for Friday. They prescribed Tramadol, and Gabapentin, and wanted to refer me to pain management again, which I can't afford. My hope is I can use the findings to file for disability again, or I'm not sure what I'll do.
I got a part time job 3 weeks ago for some form of income. But I stand for 8 hours, and it's killing me. My legs feel like they are on fire after 3, or 4 hours of my shift. My symptoms are bad and I need help. Both my legs are numb, and my pain is a solid 6 on a 1-10 scale, with an 8 on bad days.
A little history: I had an injury skiing in 1990 and it hurt at the time, but was laying dormant for the most part. When I was around 35 it flared up and reared it's ugly head. After many failed treatments, and pain management I had my L4 / L5 / S1 fused. A year later my recovery was nonexistent, and my new surgeon had to fix surgery#1, and fuse L2-S1, and remove they first surgeon's mess.
This post is more to vent than anything, but if anyone can relate, or has any advice, please post. Thx in advance, Eric.. AKA Bpainfree39
