L5s1 minor central disc bulge but flare ups 10 months later!

I've received my Mri back in December which states l5s1 disc bulge is lateralizing towards the left nerve Forman, disc is narrowed and desiccated. Minor disc disease, when flare up occurs specific area above my left glute l5 area Is very tender minor or not I've still been dealing with flare ups and just when you think things are coming along a flare up sets you back and really becomes frustrating. Currently seeing chiro doing lots of core and stretching and trying to focus on proper posture and eating healthy. Anyone have any great gadgets or neat advice to help in the continuation of my progress. I truly believe I have some thing worse then what's been talked about but I'm not a Dr. It's scares me that' a bulge can cause this much discomfort I can't imagine a full on sciatica situation. 12 months and still dealing with clicking in left hip and l5 s1 flare ups.

  • Hi Chris. The best advice I can give you is to stay away from lifting anything heavy. Ok the core strengthening and stretching exercises as long as they are done right and you don't stress your spine in the process.
It seems that what was a minor bulge in the beginig it evolved into something more serious. The area affected is usually s1 and l5 nerves. I had the exact same diagnose as you.

Present further damage by resting more and stay away from heavy stuff. Don't know what your job is but if it involves handling heavy weights you should consider a change.
