Healing and hopeful

My question is this: How do I wean my self off of the percoset. I have been taking 4 per day for the last week and have been taking it for over 2 years. . Much less now that my back has been "cleaned up" and the floating bone taken out. I am walking 3 miles a day. The surgeon wants me walking by adding one mile each weak.
Can you tell me what is the best way to do this? Thank you, Teresa
