The discussion/comment approval cycle has been in production for several months now.

Basically what this does is that any new member 1. Creating a New discussion or 2. Making their first comment the information is not published, but instead goes to through the approval process. The moderator team gets a list of all of these new items awaiting approval.

The purpose behind this is to:

  • - Reduce the number of spammed threads
    - Review new items to make sure no forum violations are violated
    - Review new items to then inform the member what information is required
This process has cut down spammed entries by over 75%! Which I know is good for all of you, but I can not tell you how much of a workload reduction it is for us.

This process normally takes 24 hours during weekdays, but on weekends it can take up to 72 hours.

But please, when you are a new member, once you submit, Do not keep resubmitting. Wait until you see your item published.
Sometimes, we see a member that keeps on submitting the same thread/post 5 or 6 times in a less than 5 minutes. We then need to delete all the extras before even getting look at the information we need to evaluate.
