Hello, my name is Jesse and I'm 23 and I think I'm suffering from a herniated disc? I go for an MRI on wednesday to hopefully figure out whats wrong with me. My pain fortunately isn't debilitating as what I've read on the forum. I sympathize with you guys, that is absolutley terrible. By browsing around I've noticed alot of dishearting stories about people who never recover and their lives are completely changed. Not that my life is probably much different from any other 23 yr olds but I work part-time as a FF/EMT, I just started an arborist company, I work part-time security and I work full time at a state park. I plan on going to school this summer too.
My pain has just started I say a week ago maybe, from what I'm not sure. Either deadlifting, sqauting or moving wood. As I stated above it doens't hurt that bad. The only time it really bothers me is if I sit for too loing like if im driving. I'll get pain shooting down my thigh, calf and butt. Its not bad pain, like jolts of it. I've started doing some mckenzie stretches and planks to get a jump on things! I';ve had heart surgery before so i'm not really looking into getting back surgery. I don't mean to be jumping the gun i'm hoping I don't have a disc problem, as stated before I go on Wednesday. I don't really have anyone else to talk to about it so since most people have experienced worse here I assumed this would be a good place to start. I'd like to know what everyone has done that has worked for them? i'd like to be able to continue on with all my jobs and still workout. I'm not goint to be doing anymore heavy stuff for fear of something worse happening.
