I have had chronic back pain for much of the last 20 years, currently under physio and take tramadol. My MRI results are as follows:
Degenerative changes are noted in particular at L3/4 and L4/5 disc spaces.
At L4/5 there are fatty endplate changes.
At L2/3 there is broad based disc bulge contacting ventral surface of theca. Posterior element hypertrophy is present at the same level, There is no significant compromise of the thecal sac or nerve roots.
At L3/4 there is a tear of the posterior annulus and a more focal central disc protusion indenting ventral surface of the theca. Thecal sack is flattened and there is bilateral lateral recess narrowing at this level a little more marked on the left.
I am in the military, 45 yrs old and worried about the future. I'd be grateful for any opinion/feedback.
