Hi all. I've suffered from daily debilitating headaches for more than 30 years. My docs have tried all manner of preventative and acute meds with no luck. I've been on daily Fioricet for decades. Last year a headache specialist sent me to a pain management dr who tried occipital nerve injections. I got minimal relief with those, so she went on to try cervical medial branch blocks. First time I got 5 weeks relief (glorious!) and the second only a week because she didn't treat it as aggressively. A week ago today I underwent a left side cervical medial RFA, and am completely floored by the amount of pain I'm in now. Headaches are not bad, much better than usual, but the back of my neck and shoulder are bruised and have a constant tight, burning pain. I'm still needing pain med (taking my Fioricet.) Anyone else have this experience with this procedure? I also still have a large numb patch on the back of my head. I'm scheduled to have the right side done in 2 weeks and am traveling to Europe 2 1/2 weeks after that. I'm terrified that I'm going to be in horrible pain on my trip. Thanks for any info you can provide.
