Disc Bulge L5-S1 nerve impingement only low back pain without neurologic symptoms?

I've had axial (low back pain only L>R) with disc bulge at L5-S1. Is it possible for the nerve to be impinged and not have any neurologic symptoms but only back pain?

  • Yes, it's possible. symptoms are different person to person. I've had a huge disc bulge with little pain and no neurological deficits whereas I know someone who has a tiny bulge with lots of pain.
