New to Chronic SIj pain. Will this cure itself?

I have tried everything short of surgery.
I miss working out. This SIJ pain had been creeping up for last 3 years but I'd rest & could manage it. Then quickly it flared up and wouldn't leave!! It has become gradually worse over last 3 months. I am 51 yrs healthy female 5,6 132lbs.
Managing my pain and resourcing a cure have become a PART TIME JOB!!
I'm not a depressive person but this is a mental challange.
I have so many questions but mostly I want to know if any one has become completely pain free for over a long period of time? In other words.....were you in chronic pain for months and now haven't been in a very long time? You can bike, walk long,, lift weights.... etc?
And if so please tell how.... Your story!!
Thx coffee1

It is good you are working with doctor to help monitor your spinal issues and to help reduce your pain.

Chronic pain definitely can take its toll on our emotions and mental state.

On this site there is.......search...top right of page. That may be helpful to you as you type in question or your concerns.

You may be led to old posts, articles or videos that may be informative to you.

Other members who can better relate to your situation may wander by and share their experiences. :)
You may also want to copy and paste your post to ...new member.....area.
There you will also receive information from the monitors of this site, on how to best navigate and benefit from SH site.

I would be curious to know what your doctor has said about your situation.

  • I have been dealing with si pain for about 2 years. It can take a serious toll on your emotions as well as your body. In terms of solving the issue my left side is now good with pt and steroid injections, but now have pain on my right si. I have found that rest in not very helpful to me but pt and moderate exercise can help. Im a 25 year old male at 5 10 175lbs. used to be 160 but have had to tone back exercise and have never eaten well so that's another thing beating on your emotions when you can see you are getting out of shape due to the injury. I haven't solved my right one yet but that's my experience with this extremely frustrating and nagging injury
