I had a L4 thru Ilium fusion done on 4/8/15. I had 2 herniated discs going in oposite directions that was pinching my spinal cord causing severe pain in my right leg. I went from feeling normal to having a spinal fusion in 4 1/2 months do to the pain. I am a volunteer paramedic for our county and a full time machinist. So I was always bearing weight on my back. They inserted 3 support rods in my back and also 9 screws to fuse my L4-S1 vertebrae and support rods from my hips up to my spine. They inserted 2 cages in my spine were they removed the bad discs at and put spacers rods in also to hold it open. Any way went back today for my 6 week check up. Oh boy what a mess I got. The bone has not started to fuse over yet and about the last 2 weeks I ha e been ha ing severe pain in my right leg again. Xrays showed that one of the cages that was inserted has moved about a 1/4 inch and is rubbing on my right leg nerves causing all the pain. So now I have to have surgery again tomorrow to get this cage removed and a bigger one put in so that he can add more screws to make sure it don't move this time . So please send thoughts my way as I'm only 31 years old and have 3 small children. Thanks for reading my story.
