I am a scoliosis surgery patient from 1978, who had a 76 degree curve corrected down to a 36 degree. Lived fairly healthy existence, gave birth to two children. Lived fairly pain free from back issues until 5 years ago. Sudden onset of leg numbness, then developed in to alot of low back pain. Believed sciatica and some nerve pinching, but unclear. Pain management specialist did cortisone injections to no avail. Finally did a Medtronic spinal stimulator at that time and have managed with less pain meds since then. Since that time, still much leg numbness and lower back pain can get pretty intense. Recent x-ray from chiropractor ( I go there for stretching...) showed the upper one of my 2 still moveable discs in lower back showing deterioration as well as bony spurs growing on it. Help! I had consulted with spinal surgeons back 3-4 years ago and no one would touch my problems. I believe this is a new issue. Is there anything I can do to keep walking at this point??? Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Help please!
