No feeling on the scar

I have a somewhat weird question but I was wondering if anybody can not feel anything where you have your scar. Like when I put my fingers on the skin around my scar I can feel that my fingers are there but when I touch my scar I feel nothing. If I press on the bone then that bone hurts but I can't feel anything where the scar tissue is. Is this normal?

I have numbness on every surgery scar. At first, it was weird, but now I don't really think about it.
I was told that it's because the nerves were cut during the surgery?
  • My scar is the same. It is weird for such a sensitive area (neck) to have a big gap missing feeling, but I'm pretty sure it's normal.

  • It's because the nerves were severed or touched and they stopped working effectively. You may notice some feeling come back gradually over the years as they regrow.

  • Nerves are notoriously sensitive . Even nerves that don't get touched but are next to the incision can be affected .
