Hello everybody,

Please forgive me I do not know much much about medical terminology so not sure I will say everything right. I am a 43 year old man. I have worked in the Texas oilfield business for over 30 years. I have had back problems for probably about 15 years. I had several sets of nerve ablations as well as countless steroid injections about 10 years ago. Last week I went to the ER with back pain and left arm pain. I stayed in the hospital for three days, they did MRI and Xray's. I was discharged with appointment to follow up with neurologist on the next day. Neurologist got me in with the neurosurgeon they next day. I have several disc problems but at C 6/7 the disc is pushing against my spinal cord. The neurosurgeon has scheduled me for ACDF cervical 6/7 on June 9. Everybody tells me this is pretty fast to get a surgery date that quickly. Neurosurgeon says I don't have hardly an cushion for my spinal cord (Stenosis ?) and moderate scoliosis. I am a little worried about the surgery but more so about recovery. I had no idea I would have to be off work for so long. Any I hope to learn a bunch from you all.

Thank you, Jeremy

It's very good you were treated so effiecenty. Each consult did his job quickly and surgery will be done before anything more serious.
You had many eyes on you, many opinions and they all agreed you needed to be seen now!

On this site there is __search__upper right on page.
If you type in__post op must haves__you will be led to an older post. It talks about some things to consider for your pre op and what you'll need post op for recovery.

Also, type in any concerns. You may also be led to articles and videos. They're in every person language, so easy to understand.

Do you have limited activities in the meantime? If you're not sure, please check with doctor.
And also check your recovery activities level and or restrictions and for how long.
You don't want to risk doctor's good work.
    Best of luck
