Hi all, about 27 months ago I had a nasty fall that herniated a disc in my back. After two rounds of injections, I got surgery, a microdiscectomy in August 2013.
By this time, I'd say my pain was mostly gone, but did it anyway because I had minor pain. The surgeon said there was a "lot of disc material" they had to take out, my disc was ruptured and fragments were everywhere.
Since then, I've been fine. Absolutely pain free. But last Friday--nine days ago--I got on an airplane and noticed pain in my legs when I was sitting. When I got up to go to baggage claim, it was painful to walk, and I was in pain for the rest of the day. Since then, I haven't noticed much improvement. I'm pain free when lying down, and when standing and walking for the most part (except for dull sciatica in my left leg) but after sitting for too long, my legs hurt, and it hurts to walk for about five minutes or so after sitting for too long--in my buttocks and my left leg. Also, when I'm in bed, I can feel lower back pain, especially when I turn around. If anything, it's worse in the morning.
I'm only 23 years old and it's really frustrating as I plan on flying to the other side of the country in four weeks. My question is if anyone's had anything like this, with herniated disc pain that didn't seem to go away for a while, and what happened with them, and what their experiences are.
