I posted this in the lower back area, but maybe this is the better place for it....
I've never tried posting in a forum like this so here goes.
I'm assuming i'm not alone in this considering the forum, but I've had a bad lower back for 10+ years. I've had many MRI's and all say the same thing.....The jelly is gone in my disc and it's hitting a nerve and causing pain. It's not sciatica and i have no pain down the leg.
Needless to say I've tried everything over the years at one time or another Chiropractor, Accupuncture, PT, Injections, stand up des, etc....everything but the surgery which I'm trying to avoid at all costs. What's funny is that it's been like this for so long you forget what worked a little and what didn't and you end up going back around again.
In fact the only thing that has given me relief has been an RF Ablation and that made me (IIRC) 6 months pain free and drug free. I'm thinking of doing that again.
i am currently on a daily dose of Tremadol 300MG which keeps me going but still have pain (I'm absolutely miserable without it).
I have pain every moment, it's just a question of how bad.....I feel it 24/7. On the plus side is I'm still able to do most things, exercise/ski/walk to work....I just would like the pain to go the hell away. It's gotten to the point where i can't even remember what that feels like.
I've tried losing weight (30lbs) and I'm now average height and weight.
So, I'm looking for support and help of things I may not have tried yet? Am I leaving some things out?
Below is about me trying YOGA, and I'm curious as to what people with low back pain think about it. If it gets lost here I may try to create another thread about it.
Recently I've tried Yoga and I've LOVED it. it has done wonders for everything....EXCEPT MY BACK. I got real into it and realize after taking some time off from it that I actually feel better without it. I can't pinpoint which poses get me but it's something and it puts me in pain for days.
The point of yoga was for me to "strengthen my core", "strengthen my back for stability" and "loosen my hamstrings and hips"
My pain is always in my lower back (Left Side) and when it gets stimulated (like yoga) gives me tenseness and muscle spasms in my mid back muscles (Left Side).
Well sorry to be long winded but as I said, it's my first post and not sure what to say. So thanks and I look forward to hearing back from peeps on this. Feel free to ask questions as my MRI and procedures tried thus far is an open book.
