Cramping when walking after surgery

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is recovering well. I had my surgery on Tuesday and was given an lumbosacral corset to wear. I was told I needed to begin walking on Wednesday for 10 minutes and work my way up to 30 minute through my recovery. Th first day I walked only 4 minutes before my hip muscles started cramping up on me. Today I walked 5 1/2 minutes before my hip muscles cramped up. Does anyone know if cramping of the muscles is from wearing the brace when I walk? The brace does come down onto the top of my hip bones so I'm wondering if they are not moving the way they are supposed to move when walking.

Thanks for any reply! Have a great day!
