Hi everyone.... looking for some advice/feedback... first a little back story... long story short is i ended up with a compression fracture of my c5 with other small fractures c4-c6 in January of 2013. After 3 months in Miami j collar followed by 6 weeks soft collar i was discharged from care... however i was still experiencing alot of pain, numbness/tingling, and muscle weakness throughout my body... 6 months after i was discharged from care i finally got an mri done (first one) i was then diagnosed with numerous conditions of the spine including Degenerative disc disease Spinal Stenosis Foraminal Narrowing and Myelomalacia... all within the cervical region of the spine.... i have done 2 rounds of physical therapy first time was 3x/week for 6 months 2nd time was 2x/week for 4 months...i still see a pain management specialist who has me taking tramdol and muscle relaxers on top of anti inflammatory steroids... he feels the next level of care is to try epidural injections to see if that helps elliviate pain and pressure off the spinal cord and if that doesnt help then he will send me back to neurosurgery recommending several procedures... i guess im looking for any feedback on if anyone has had theae before and how did they effect you positively or negatively... i know every person is different and every treatment doesnt work the same for everyone but any feedback is appreciated

I've had about twelve epidurals over the years some were effective and some were not.
When epidural was effective, it was long lasting, for me.

I know that doesn't help you much. But it speaks to not only are they more effective in one person than another, but different areas of spine within one person.

I wish you the very best!

  • Pain management is offering me esi in thoracic 10 area. I get bad reactions from steroids every time. They have no other options for me as herniated disc is compressing the cord and they say inoperable. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks and have a pain free day!
