Disk Narrowing

For over 10 years I have been suffering from lower back pain, now it is affecting both legs causing tingling in the feet losing sensation in both feet if I walk long distances. Restless leg syndrome at night but this past year I am experiencing pain in my groin and right hip also with moving bowels or passing flatus. I have had CAT scans and x-rays dating back to 2002 saying the same thing on X-rays about there being a mild right convexity scoliosis with slight rotation. Marked disc space narrowing at the L4-L5 level with osteophyte formation, disk space narrowing also seen at L5-S1 level, pedicles are intact, no bony injury but the apophyseal joints show degenerative disc disease changes and osteoarthritis of the lumbar spine. A recent x-ray done in 2009 showed marked evidence of disk space narrowing at C4-C5, C5-C6 and C6-C7 with loss of normal anterior curvature. I suffer from pain in the right shoulder and tennis elbow. I have been on Fosamax over 13 years now. My family doctor is taking care of my spine health but tells me just to take Tylenol for pain. You know I have been wanting to see a chiropractor for the longest time to see what they can do and take my x-ray report with me but without my family doctor finding out, What would anyone suggest in my case?

It seems your doctor knows your situation best. I'm not sure why you would want to seek treatment that you would want to hide from him.
I would talk it over with my doctor first.

My primary doctor tried working with my chronic pain about two years before referring me to pain management doctor.
That was best thing for me!
