So I've posted my history of back issues in a couple threads. I'll give a brief overview and then on to what I'm asking.
2002-injured back. Found out I had herniations at l4/l5, l5/s1. Terrible sciatic pain and numbness of rt leg and foot.
2002-2005: 4 epidurals, slew of meds, PT every 6 months, daily stretching and excersise.
2005: Discectomy/Laminectomy l5/s1. Great relief
2005-2012: no issues. Med free. Continued to stretch daily
2012: reinjured back. Herniations at T4 through T8(4 total), and L2/L3, L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1
2012 thru present: nerve blocks, 2 epidurals, stretch, excersise, inversion table, rollers, meds(Lyrica, Gabopentin, Norco, Percocet, Anti-inflammatories, Tramadol, Steroids, PT-nothing helped
Current meds: Opana ER10MG(2x daily), Tramadol 50mg(4 2x daily), stretch, chiropractor, pain mgmt, cane to walk, have a caudal injection on the 17th
Ok. Now that that's there, a couple questions.
*How do you get the feeling back in your foot? Mines been mostly numb for 2 weeks now. Sciatic is terrible.
*Has anyone had luck with the caudal injection? He wants to flood the spinal space to hopefully shrink some discs since there are 4 in my lower back.
*If I have surgery, what's the likelihood of fusion vs decompression since I have 4 stacked on each other that are bad?
*Have any of you been put out on disability? My work and doc want to, but I'm not sure. All I know is working is a nightmare but going out is gonna hurt financially.
Any advice would be awesome. Thanks!
Herniations T3/T4, T4/T/5, T5/T6, T6/T7
L2/L3, L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1
Surgery to correct in 2005, reinjured 2012
Zero stability or movement in base of spine. Impingement on both sides of spine, with varying pain/numbness on both sides.
