Extreme pain in back of right thigh

When sleeping. It sometimes wakes me up and other times only happens in the morning. It's at least a 9 on the pain scale, but only lasts about 10 minutes. Doesn't happen at all during the day. However my foot and 3 outer toes are numb 24/7 for the last two weeks. I had a 3 level lumbar fusion almost two years ago which was successful but I'm assuming these new issues are back related. I went to a Neurologist yesterday who has scheduled me for an MRI of my back and nerve conduction test of my foot in 2 weeks. Any thoughts on what might be causing my 2 issues?
Artificial disc at L5S1 for 10 years. Had 3 Level lumbar fusion and Laminectomy on Sept 27, 2013. It was an OLIF (Oblique Lumbar Interbody Fusion) with cages, BMP, rods & screws. Norco, Plaquenil
