Been following the people on this site throughout my post op stage , I am 7 weeks post op micro l5 s1.
Basically managed sciatica pains for 2 years. The week before my surgery I had pains like no other that reduced me to tears couldn't walk , couldn't stand . We all know what it's like . I should also say that 2 weeks before I was having the tinglies in my butt and part of my privates . I had awful pain in my butt cheek. Got my husband yo get his elbow in as that used to relieve but next morning I was numb . Went to a and e they said nothing had changed on the Mri so basically was numb there 1 week before surgery , thankfully no loss of bladder or bowel function .
So here I am nearly 8 weeks post op and still numb , not as bad as I feel temp and I can now feel pinch . Also get the occasional burning feeling. Have been back to see the surgeon for check up and she said I had partial CEs syndrome . Cannot put a time factor on if it will go or not . I have been very conservative with my road to recovery and only last week started driving and doing more stuff , purely for the fear of everytime of feeling a pain in my back thinking I am going to re herniate . Have not had the bad sciatic pain thankfully but feeling a few small niggles over the last few days going down my leg and some palpettations of muscles and spasms . Is that normal for 7 weeks after surgery when you didn't have it straight after?. What is the standard time frame of numbness going ?.ni was under the impression that if you didn't have full ces the success rate was 90 percent recovery .
I eork with a desk job and thinking am I ever going to be able to sit for more than 30 minutes .? The more I sit and drive the slightly number the numbness gets which is why I am questioning the partial ces as I thought before the surgeon said this that I had perineal numbness or piriformus syndrome issues .?? So many questions yet no one can tell me .just yo let you know I am 39 years old and think I'm starting to drive my husband mad !!
Have been stretching since day one and walking 2x 30 minutes per day core excerdises most of the time 10 reps three times per day . Any advice would be greatly appreciated . I have been having showers as the bath feels alien !! I can't lay down in it and it was the most uncomfortable thing ever sitting up straight like s statue .Before I loved my bath with a glass of wine!!of two .stilltaking ibuprofen but more to try and carry on reducing swelling more than for pain . Seeing physio once per week and corset lot of trigger last week . Should also mention that I still get butt pains every now and then .
