I seen a neurosurgeon after having an MRI confirming degenerative disc disease and bulges at L4-5 and L5-S1. The pain has gotten really bad. He said that I am too young (36) to do surgery and medication and exercise should help. After telling him about my left arm tingling constantly he checked my reflexes and my left knee caused my upper body to jerk also. Now he wants an MRI on my neck. He didn't say what he was looking for specifically but a lot of what I am reading leads to an upper motor lesion and potentially multiple sclerosis. Does this sound right? I don't have neck pain, just low and mid back pain. I did suffer a grade 5 concussion 9 years ago. Thanks for your thoughts.
