Been having pain above and below my L4-5 fusion. Doctor has reviewed MRI taken before the fusion and also had new X-rays done. I have posted them here for info: https://www.flickr.com/gp/134532468@N05/Bt7tna
I have been diagnosed with a 5mm retrolisthesis at L1-2 and a 10mm retrolisthesis at L5-S1.
Both are unstable. Each time the physio eases it back into place, L1-2 keeps popping out again and causes a lot of pain in my upper lumbar area. The L5-S1 can't be manipulated as its next to my fusion. It really hurts when I lie down at night and when I get up in the morning, but just aches in the background during the day. At the moment, I'm on amitriptyline and ibuprofen to manage the pain. I can still walk ok but get the odd jolt in my back / down the legs if I sit or lie down too quickly.
Has anyone else had this? Any tips on what activities helped you and can anyone comment on whether I'm likely to need surgery? (Which I really don't want).
