So, I am almost 23 years old and I have been battling back, hip, and hamstring pain for over a year now. I started noticing problems when I would have pain in my right hamstring while sitting. I let it go for a while and eventually saw my athletic trainer about it as I had remember feeling like I had pulled my hamstring while playing soccer a couple months earlier. We did various treatments with no success and this is when I saw a doctor who did an MRI which showed nothing. I decided to go to an orthopedic doctor who suggested the pain was coming from my back, and about the same time I had started experiencing lower back pain. The journey continued from there: approximately 7 doctors of various specialties, 2 MRIs, 1 bone scan, 4 X-rays, 1 CT scan, 3 injections, and months of physical therapy later.. I still have no relief of my symptoms. I am currently scheduled to see another doctor but I couldn't get an appointment until October.
This has been extremely hard for me to deal with as I was previously very active and this pain has taken so much from me. I wasn't allowed to play my final season of college soccer (even though there was no diagnosis). I can't stand for more than an hour or two. Sitting in certain chairs for an extended period also causes pain. I can not extend my back backwards without pain and have little motion bending forward. I tried going to the zoo but it was too much walking/standing. I can not hold my baby cousin for very long without causing pain. Certain spots are touch sensitive.
I just really need to know if anyone else has had or knows of anyone who has had a similar issue. Again, I am only a couple months from being 23 and I am not able to do things that people my age should be able to do. This is not something I can just wait around forever trying to figure out, I would like to be able to live my life. I would appreciate any advice. http://www.spine-health.com/conditions/lower-back-pain/diagnosing-cause-lower-back-pain Welcome to Spine-Health
