Hi, so I have had excruciating pain in my foot for one year ... I spent ages going to foot doctors who said there was nothing wrong with it ...then I had s lumbar MRI which found a disc bulge at L5S1 ...I had two nerve root blocks which more or less fixed it completely...then when the pain came back they suggested a microdiscectomy which has made everything MUCH worse. I now have equally bad pain in the other foot . I am no longer convinced the cause is in my back - I am wondering if I have peripheral neuropathy in my feet . I just have constant burning pain on the sole(s) - no numbness, no temperature changes ...all the docs are still convinced the pain emanates from the back because the nerve root block was successful. However since the microdiscectomy I have had two more blocks which haven't worked at all . .. This is making me think the problem is not in my back but that I have some kind of peripheral neuropathy in my feet . Thoughts ??
