Couldn't urinate for over 10 hours, Diagnosed With SDD

I have just been diagnosed by a Chiropractor with Degenerative Spine Disease. He said I'm at "phase 2" and quickly heading towards phase 3. He also said with the damage I have their is no returning back to "phase 1" which is considered normal. I'm seeing an orthopedic Doctor today and am very anxious to see what he has to say. I have my results of a cat scan and MRI which was done at the hospital. Which I went to because I couldn't urinate for over 10 hours. I had to use a catheter . The Neurosurgeon told me I would require surgery down the road. I just missed Emergency surgery I was told. At being age 35 I feel like my age has a lot to do with why they won't do surgery. I recently saw a spine specialist who wants me to do a trial period with a spine simulator. I'll try anything to get rid of this pain. I have tried facet and epidural injections and they did nothing but cause me more pain ;-(

And never heard of anything regarding phases of one.

Degenerative Disc Disease is a spinal condition. But I am not sure how a chiropractor was able to diagnose that. DDD is essentially the natural aging of our spines. Almost everyone shows some signs of DDD by the time they are 30. Luckily, most conditions can be treated with approved exercises and over the counter NSAIDS. Only the more severe cases may require surgery.

Could this be what they are talking about? Like I said, I never heard of Degenerative Spine Disease.
