First surgery was to correct scoliosis in 2004. 12 vertebrae fusion 4 screws /rods.
Started feeling some odd grinding down by where the screws are in the lumbar region. Went to the doc and found out the fusion didn't take by the screws at the bottom which caused all the screws to completely back out. Then my disk completely deteriorated and caused my vertebra to sit on toup of eachother a while. (I hardly felt any pain from this and I dunno why....)
So 2 weeks ago yesterday I found a great surgeon and we fixed it.
-Sawed off about 2 inches off my old rods,
-removed the 4 screws
-spread apart my vertebra and gutted my disc completely.
-built a new mesh disc and injected bone.
-added a rubber spacer
-attached new rods to the old & fused a vertebra lower.
- added 6 super long screws

I couldn't take any pain meds cause I react to all opioids. I'm taking Neurontin though in small dosage cause I react to that too. I'm tired. I'm exhausted from the constant ache. It's completely ruined my mood and my poor kid and husband have to deal with an angry person all the time cause I hurt. The shooting pains down my legs alternate day to day. The constant ache in my entire pelvic region. Sigh.....I feel like I almost should have just not done anything to fix my self. And I worry about infection cause last time 2 weeks later I ended up with a staph infection and they had to redo the whole damn thing, I'm just sick of fear and pain constantly....
