Medtronic Spinal Cord Stim Removal

Hello, I am having my SCS removed on 9/1/2015. I have had in for 3 years. It has been nothing but a problem. Has anyone had one removed? The doctor who put it in is an anesthesiologist and does not want to remove it. I have finally found and Orthopedic surgeon who specializes in back surgery willing to remove it. He has never removed one before but will remove this one. He says my major concern would be infection. Would like to hear from people who have experience this and what kimd of problems have they had. Thanks!

I had mine removed when I has L5-S1 revision surgery. I don't know how difficult it is without the additional surgery. Dr said it was fairly simple. Couldn't cover my intense nerve pain so I'm glad it's gone.
    Good Luck!
  • I was wondering if you could update on how your removal went. I have been doing searches on this topic, as I have my removal later this month, but notice it isn't a very common topic. When it does come up, many others are anticipating getting theirs removed, but not very many post after they have it done. Could you post on how it went?
