Hello , I just had my first & second Epidural Steroid Injection in my L5 and S1 respectively about 2 days ago at the tender age of 17 (yeah great job I know) because of my lower back pain that's been ongoing for the last 9 months, I couldn't stand for more then 5 minutes and my back would kill me until I took some opiates, my MRI report showed L5-S1 Disc herniation so my ortho & physical therapist recommended an ESI after extensive rounds of physical therapy and trigger point injections, so after sometime of careful deliberation I finally decided to get one and to be quite frank it wasn't as bad as some unfortunate members had to experience, other then turning my buttocks yellow due to the anti-septic.
The first 30 minutes after the injections my left leg was numb but it eventually it wore off and there was some pain/soreness in my legs then I went to my less-strenous summer job . Now here I am 2 days later with the same lower back pain, now I've heard that the medication can take upto 2 weeks to feel noticeable effects and might not help anyways !
So, what, positive & negative experiences have other members experiences particularly around my age range ? Welcome to Spine-Health
