back spasms

Hi Everyone!

I have been dealing with lower back pain, tight glute, and sciatic pain off and on for about a year. I have been seeing an ortho specialist too. My first injection was in lumbar on left side in May. Since then I no longer have the tightness or sciatic pain in the left glute and the lower back has gotten better. I had a 2nd injection in June to address the now tightness in the right glute. It did help but not like the 1st injection did and my back is better, meaning it isn't as tight as before in the morning after waking up. I still have some tightness but able to work it out. By the way I am 36, was an athlete all my life, compete in Crossfit, and completely laid off of Olympic lifting since January. I still work out but only body weight movements, rowing, etc.

Lately, I have been having spasms in my lower back from out of no where. Yesterday I was walking in my bedroom and my back started to spasms and all I can do is stand there, hold my balance, and prevent myself from falling. It feels like I have been tazer or something, I can't explain it because I have never been tazer. But it hurts, takes control of my movement, and makes me feel weak. I just had a 2nd one at work while standing up from a seated position.

Sometimes while sleeping if I turn to quickly or my husband moves and it transfers to my side of the bed, I also get a back spasms.

Has anyone every experience this? Thank you for your time.

but based on what you wrote, my guess (and its only a guess) is that its muscle related.

Perhaps a pinched nerve, a muscle pull/tear, something that comes on the quickly. That type of situation is more acute pain in nature than a spinal chronic type of problem.
