this is my first post here so please forgive me if this is already answered on the site*. In summary, I saw http://www.spine-health.com/forum/treatment/pain-medications/anyone-put-butrans-below-waist
and so am planning on putting the patch in a similar location for my upcoming vacation. However, I thought that it was high temperatures in general that were problematic for the patch and not just direct sunlight. Hence, won't having the patch... effectively in my swimming trunks... be problematic heat-wise? e.g. should I stay in the shade more? I don't really want to unintentionally drop dead on the beach, for example...
For the record and as a means of introduction I'm a 40yo Brit transplant in NYC and I've had abdominal pain for ~ 20 years which has been diagnosed (if you can call a negative diagnosis "diagnosed") as IBS. I've also had unsuccessfully-treated OCD, depression and other unpleasantness-es for that period as well - not much fun. All my GI docs have given up and basically recently pointed me towards pain management and... here I am. I think I've been prescribed Fentanyl due to the reduced impact it has on the GI system it has compared to oral opiates e.g. Oxycontin.
Many thanks for such a great pain resource!
*Note: I had to turn off the Ghostery and AdBlock browser extensions otherwise searching for "Fentanyl" returned no results Welcome to Spine-Health
