Mom Venting

Hi all. I haven't posted in a long time. Things for my son (who is now 22) haven't been perfect, but they were ok for awhile. Now a screw has come loose in his hardware and things have gotten bad again really fast. He says the nerve pain is different and terrible. He is having sciatica for the first time since we began this journey 7 years ago. So here we go again. MRIs, wait, CT scans, wait, doc appointments, wait ,wait some more. In the meantime he can't sleep, can't work, can't go to school, never goes anywhere with friends. The only thing that helps temporarily is a cutting edge combination of massage, acupuncture, and yoga (at $150.00 dollars a treatment) which he gets at least 5 times a week and often daily (which we can't afford and insurance won't cover). It's so hard watching your child's life disintegrate before your eyes. Such a helpless feeling! At this point we are trying to get surgery scheduled to fix the screw. This is an exercise in frustration on its own. The red tape! I've become a pro at this doctor/referral/surgery process over the years and it still takes forever. Ugh! Thanks for letting me vent!
