can occipital headaches be relieved by the right pillow?

I have degenerated disks (C4-6) and had fusion to address that. But I still get debilitating headaches at night caused by the nerve pain associated with the neck condition--goes from my shoulder up into my occipital lobe. The shoulder pain is there most of the day but the headaches only come between 2-4 a.m. after I've been asleep for awhile. This leads me to believe that I need a good pillow but what to get--there's pluses and minuses of pillows all over the internet and none have consistently good reviews. Any suggestions--I need something that will regulate my blood flow I guess that must get constricted as I lie down. I am a side and back sleeper (not by choice but cervical fusion pretty much negates any chance for sleeping on my stomach anymore.) Is there anyone who can tell me about a GOOD pillow that will help with this condition? Thank you.
