I'm a 21 year old female who has been suffering with lower back and pain in my left leg for 4 years. I work as a pharmacy dispenser so long shifts standing on my feet don't help!
When I was 15 I was in a skiing accident which left me with knee and hip injuries. I'm also hypermobile. At the time of the accident I was told my lower back pain was caused by my hip problem and after surgery the pain would start to subside. This never happened.
Over the years I've had scans, which show no damage to my spine. I've been given Solpadol, lower strength co-codamol (15/500 which i'm currently taking) and tramadol.
Last year I was given two sets of steroid injections to my spine which worked amazingly! (L3,4,5 and S1 I believe) I was completely off pain relief but unfortunately due to my age, my doctor didn't want to repeatedly inject me!
I get dull aching pains to the left side of my back with burning sensations all the way to my toes. I also get pain around my left hip and groin which feels very muscular.
This pain happens on a daily basis. It affects my concentration and ability to get a full nights sleep. My current pain relief doesn't always take my pain away which just makes me feel it's pointless!
Just wondering if anyone suffers similar types of pain and what they have done or what helps them.
I have an appointment with my GP next week, I'm going to ask him to up my pain relief again and see about having the steroids done. It has now been 9 months since the last injections.
