I have never done this before - generally always steer clear of reading medical advice online and self diagnosing but I couldn't help myself.
I've had pain between my shoulder blade and spine for almost a year now and it's been gradually getting worse. Manifests itself in sort of a grinding pain under the scapula, between it and the spine, and weakness / tenderness in the rotater cuff/deltoid area and underneath the armpit and wrapping around the back. It's at its worst when I'm sitting at my desk at work (which I'm often doing 12-16 hours per day) and when I wake up in the morning.
I've been seeing a physiotherapist and massage therapist off and on since it started and there has been no improvement. My physio suggested the outside chance that it might be a pinched nerve, but has been more focused on my rotater cuff and posture.
I read a bunch of articles today on slipped / bulging disks (c4 and c5 specifically) and noticed some other symptoms that I have that I never imagined would be related. In addition to the shoulder pain I experience:
- occasional uncontrollable twitching in the thumb on my left hand that i literally cant stop until it subsides by itself
- severe headache in the back of my head that lasts for about a minute and hits every other day or so (hasn't been enough for me to worry about until i realized it might be related)
- "twinge"/sharp pain in the lower back on the left and right sides when sitting at my desk or walking around
For reference, I'm 6'5", 25 year old male.
I'm seeing a doctor with these things in mind tomorrow but interested to hear what you guys think and if anyone had similar symptoms.
Thanks very much all
