Decompression Surgery Post Fusion?

Hello everyone,
So I had a consult with a neurosurgeon yesterday, second opinion due to continuing back and leg pain. He told me he sees foraminal narrowing of the L5 nerve root. He told me I'm probably looking at a decompression surgery. First I have to have an EMG. Are those painful?
Has anyone had to have decompression surgery post fusion? Is that the search term I'd use to find others stories? I'm terrified of another surgery. This recovery has been a bear.
I've managed to take on a new attitude though, thankfully. Each day is a gift with my three year old.
I'm just hoping to find others stories that were in a similar situation. Thank you for any advice, or stories you may be able to provide.
I appreciate all of the support I've received here on this journey.

I'm sorry about your continued pain.
Re the EMG, mine was not painful at all.
