l5 s1

Hiya I'm wondering if some one can advise me . Iv just had a mri and it come back that I have a bulging disc L5 S1 . I've been told that I might need an operation but I want to try the injection first . I have been on gabapentin free time today 100 milligrams I have stopped taking it 2 weeks ago to see if the pain has stopped I don't care as much pain as I did all I've got at the moment is a pain in my ankle and in my lower back which I can't bear to carry on. At this moment in time I am very scared I'm worried a part of me says don't go through the injection has anybody experienced it work. And also does anybody know if it it heal itself many thanks

  • The injections sound scary but they, in my experience, aren't painful (steroid and nerve block). I decided to try them because they go straight to the area affected. I liked the idea of that better than takin meds daily that can affect whole body. I didn't get much help from the injection, but many people do. Good luck with your decision
