Some of you may remember a couple of months ago I had debilitating sciatica and numb two little toes a half of sole of foot. I was in more pain than ever in my life. Had to use a wheelchair to get around the house and screamed getting to the bathroom. I went to a Neurologist who did a nerve conduction test which confirmed it was the S1 nerve root. He said he felt I needed to have my artificial disc at L5S1 removed and fused. When I finally got to see my surgeon's PA she said he wanted to try a nerve root block first under Floroscopy. It worked in a day. It's truly is a miricle! My sciatica pain is ALL GONE! My foot is still numb however. I had a Myelogram yesterday hoping it will give us a clue since my artificial disc is obscured in the MRI. I wanted to wait a while before posting my good news, but it's been over two weeks. My surgeon said in some people it only last a few weeks, others a few months or a few years. I hope I'm the latter. Give it a try if you have bad sciatica.
