Hardware removal

My son had a two level fusion (lumbar) 2 1/2 years ago. One of the screws became loose recently and the surgeon decided the hardware needed to be removed. We had no idea what to expect. We were told that the removal surgery would be very similar to the initial surgery. Surgery was one week ago. Things went way easier than expected and the recovery so far has been a lot easier. Way less pain. Not nearly as exhausting. Just wanted anyone considering hardware removal to hear what our experience has been. Best wishes to everyone here!
