For now...

Once she sang
In wooden halls
Little wood benches..good little soldiers lined up in the rows

Impatient little cold fingernails
On the glass
Leaving little tendrils to remind us..it has passed

As soft,as she can
She steps upon old floors
They cannot keep secrets
They give it up so easily
I think
From memory
They were trees
And would talk in the winds
And to each other
Little taps of little branches
To remind themselves...
Or to forget?

She calls out a name in the cold room
And her breath
Spells it out in eloquent language
If only we understood
As the word
Fades from sight.

The boards
The windows
And the winds understand..
For Now..
I am Winter.

Dont fade inro that dark nite
Let your voice be raised
Let the winds know
learn the secret language
Of empty rooms
And full ones.

Be Brave Spiney
