I went and saw my PM dr about 2 weeks ago and had a urine test done. I am prescribed norco and gabapentin. My norco is every 12 hours as needed for pain. The assistant asked me several questions about taking my medication. I told her I take the norco at night because by then my pain is usually real bad and as needed if earlier in the day. She asked when the last time was I took it and I told her I didn't have any the previous night because I had a glass of wine with dinner and didn't want to mix. Well urine test comes back with no norco I but gabapentin was normal. After I saw the results I actually remembered I did not take any for 3 days only because my husband was very sick. He spent the night in the hospital and when he was released I actually was afraid to take it because it does make me sleepy. I was afraid he would need something and I would be to groggy to help him. Today, I get " the call" . They want me to come in for a pill count ( which I obviously have extra norcoo) and they want me to bring all scripts I have from the dr including the ones for the norco. And as luck would have it, I go to my pharmacy to get the scripts they have on file....... They can't find one for... You guessed it, norco. I have a script for November but October is MIA eventhough they were dropped off at the same time. So I pretty much know this looks bad, real bad. I'm literally sick I'm going to get kicked out of pain management. When they called today to tell me the dr wants to see me ASAP, I explained about my husband being sick and even offered to bring in the prescriptions he was given which also shows the date they were filled. She pretty much didn't care and said to make sure I bring all my medications for a count and all scripts. I think I would be ok if they just wanted a pill count but them wanting the scripts has me worried especially now since my pharmacy lost one. All my medication is dead on number wise except for the norco which I have extra now since I didn't take it those days. My urine test otherwise was fine, no illegal drugs, no other medications that I'm not suppose to have . Any suggestions on how to handle this.? I really didn't think it would be a problem that the norco did not show up since it's prescribed " as needed". I did take it 4 days prior to urine test but I guess it was all out of my system by then. I'm not looking to get the lost script replaced because I know they won't do that, which is fine. I will have to make this one last till November. I'm just sick over this. Worried I'm going to get kicked out for taking to little medication.
